How to Use Olive Oil for Ear Wax Removal?

If you are suffering from an excess of ear wax and are looking for a quick and easy, at-home fix, then look no further. Olive oil is your answer. It is a traditional remedy for removing ear wax. When a build up of wax occurs, it can affect your hearing, cause discomfort, or interfere with hearing aid use. It may also trap bacteria, which will increase your risk of developing an ear infection.

How do I use it?

We recommend using an olive oil spray to relieve a blockage. Ideally, you should use 3 squirts in the blocked ear, and remain lying on your side for around 5 minutes to allow the oil to absorb. You may use room-temperature olive oil, though some people prefer to warm it up in a pan over low heat. Ensure that you test the temperature on your skin. The oil should be slightly warm, not hot.

How often should I do this?

We recommend using this technique once a day for one or two weeks.
